Harrods Haul

A few days ago i went to Harrods in london with a relative for lunch. Originally i wasn't going to buy anything but the beauty hall was calling so i picked up a few things...

For a while I have been looking for a new moisturiser as the one I have been using is running out, i have read countless blog posts about many different types but when it came down to it I looked for scent, creaminess, texture and if i liked having it on my hand (where i test things). I looked at a couple but the main one that stood out to me was the Chanel hydra beauty creme, as i generally have dry skin the name stood out to me and as i immediately liked the clean black and ice blue packaging I tried it on my hand. OMG it was divine, thick and creamy yet it sunk in fast and smelled sweet and fruity! I bought the Cream version as i have dry skin but there is a gel kind which is better if you have slightly more oily skin. It cost between £50 and £60 depending where you buy it. this is normally much more than i would normally spend but for the quality I think it is worth it. If you can't afford something as expensive i really recommend the Garnier moisture Match as there is one for every skin type!

The next thing on my agenda was a really good lip balm as due to the changing weather my lips have really been suffering as i was at the chanel counter i picked up on of the Hydramax + active nutrition lip balm as i liked the texture and feel on my lips! It costs around £28.

So the last thing I bought was at the MAC counter,as i have heard loads of rave reviews about them i purchased a mineralise skin finish in the shade Soft and gentle. I have seen a lot of tutorials using these and i was dying to pick one up. I must say it is stunning, it feels like silk and gives your skin a glow!! It costs £21.50

I hope you all enjoyed this haul and if you would like more in depth reviews about any of the products do not hesitate to ask in the comments below!!

Review - YVES SAINT LAURENT - Rouge Volupté lipstick

So while we were on holiday, we visited the infamous "Sephora" while there i decided to try a few products that are normally a bit out of my comfort and price zone. As far as luxary products go i have a few but this is my first one purchased with my own money. Amongst a few other things i bought the YSL Rouge volupte lipstick in shade 29 opera rose. This is a creamy, pigmented lipstick that is a solid medium pink. I love it because it is very smooth and easy to apply. It is a very spring/summer shade and i feel i will get a lot of use out of it.

One of the few downsides is that because of its creaminess it is quite slippy and so doesnt last long and will need a few topping ups during the day. Another downside for me is the price. At £24.50/€ 31.90 it is a much more expensive lipstick than i normally would buy for myself but as i was on holiday i had a splurge!

Overall i love my new lipstick and i think it will be a great lipstick in my collection!
